Unboxing My ChronicAlly Box

I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.

Unboxing My ChronicAlly Box

I've been hearing a lot about subscription boxes with various themes; crafts, Christian living, pets, clothes, etc.

I gotta be honest.  I didn't get it at first.

I mean, I was sure they were fun and all, but I just wasn't interested.  The only subscriptions I needed were my Amazon ones that delivered toilet paper and diapers to my front door once a month and provided a new giant cardboard box for the kids to play with.

And then, I was offered the opportunity to review a subscription box from ChronicAlly, the first ever chronic illness woman and girl's health and beauty subscription box.  Okay...I'm a woman with a chronic illness (or two, or three)...sure, why not?

I signed up to review the box and then forgot about it until it showed up at my door last week.

It was like Christmas.  Which was kind of fitting since, you know, it's December and all.

I'm pretty sure that someone stalked me for a while before putting the box together because it was like it was created just for me.  One of my worries with subscription boxes was that I wouldn't like half the stuff in the box so it would be a waste of money.  I was happy to be proven wrong.

Time to open my present...I mean ChronicAlly box.

The first thing I saw when I opened it up was the introduction card on top.  On the flip side of it was a list of everything that was in the box, including some information on each item.  The theme of this particular box was tea, something of which I'm kind of a big fan.

Everything was packed securely inside of the box with pink tissue paper and crinkle paper filler to ensure that nothing slid around.

The first thing I unpacked was this tea mug (obviously not a coffee mug as the theme of the box was tea.)  My best friend and I are always telling the other one "You've got this," when we hit a rough patch.  So when I saw that the saying was emblazoned on the mug, I may have squealed a little in excitement.  Plus, shiny gold lettering and handle...excuse me while I squeal again.

Next up was a "Tuffy Steeper" from Steepware.  It's made of expandable silicone and comes with a little tray to set it on when you're done steeping your tea.  It can even be used for steeping coffee if need be.  Naturally, a package of loose tea came in the box as well so I could try out my new steeper.

The "Meditative Mind" tea is made of white tea, jasmine pearl green tea, rosebuds, and petals.  Sounds pretty decadent, no?  My little bag contained five servings.

And then...for my chai loving self, this amazing chai spice lip balm from Hurraw.  I had my doubts at first as a lot of lip balms actually seem to irritate my skin more than help it, but the creators of the box must have known that many chronically ill people have the same issue because they picked a good one!  I've been using it for two days now, and it's definitely making a big difference with my chapped lips.

Last but not least, I found a package of Clarity Bath Salts in my box.  Except that we don't have a bathtub in our home-just a shower stall.  "Aha!" I thought to myself, "I knew there would be at least one thing in the box I couldn't use!"

I was wrong again.

The directions read: "Add loose herbs and salt to tea bag (which is included in the packet).  Place in tub or drop on the shower floor.  Enjoy!"

Ok then.  I was out of excuses not to love the ChronicAlly subscription box.

Want your own ChronicAlly subscription box?  You can subscribe on a month-to-month basis, or prepay for a period of 3 or 6 months.  If you're like me and worried that you won't be able to use something in the box because you're allergic to it or (like me again) can't take baths for some reason, you let them know beforehand on the contact form so that the box can be customized to your needs.
